Has anyone ever made a valid performance comparison between 2-1 and 2-2 exhaust. I'm guessing that a 2-1 makes more power, but who nows.
2-2 look much better to me. I suppose just replacing the stock double 1 1/8" ID headpipes with 1 3/8" would help a lot, either way.

The problem with my R&D is that I don't have the time or money to go out and do dyno runs if i change anything. I have to carefully monitor how my motor performs against some of my competitors who have fast motors and have the means to know what type of hp figures they're getting.
With that said I think a 2-1 can make more power if tuned properly but the power would be high in the rev range. A 2-2 seems to provide more power in the midrange than a 2-1 but loses a little to the 2-1 at higher rpm. I've found that midrange power to be more useful. I roadrace so there are lotsa turns and being able to apply usable power just past the apex of a turn, which there are more of than high speed straights, makes for quicker lap times.

The most notable difference between racing and sex is that with racing, you are encouraged to be quick and finish first. |
