What ever happened with this bike? Did you get the compression issue fixed?

I cant believe all the knowledgeable guys In here didn't think of a warped head or some sort of leak in the left side cylinder perhaps the valves need a grinding or some leakage at the cam chain tunnel. I"m not trying to be a smart a$$ I'm being serious.

This may be way out on a limb but if you are using the original exhaust pipes, check for a partially collapsed inner pipe[most jap bikes use double wall pipes] I have a 77 xs650 that i got for free because nobody could figure out why the left side would not run correctly. After about a year of messing around with this bike ,(including tearing down the top end twice,and rebuilding and cleaning the carbs multiple times) I tried running a clutch cable through the left exhaust. It went about 8 inches and stopped Put on a different head pipe on the left and it ran perfectly. Just a thought.............
