I feel like I've been sniffing exhaust! Help me out. I have a 77 Standard. If I pull off the stock mufflers I'll find the head pipe is double walled? 1 1/2 OD - 1 1/4 ID ? Is it worth getting 1 1/2 head pipes or just put a more open muffler on my stock pipes? Like in islandave's video? (sounds great) I like Omar's mile high pipes but with the TPO's and EPO's they are $700! any cheaper versions of mile high pipes? EPO's for 1 1/2 inch pipes... that sound like stock pipes to me... What an I missing?

Scout, what you're missing is that the EPO raises velocity leading into the bends and impedes reversion. There's more to flow than the overall diameter of the pipe.

Get yourself a set of Jemco pipes. They are mounted on the left side and look fifty times better than Omar's. The only down side is you have to remove a pipe to check the oil.

You meen right side right ;D Are those nickel plated from the manufacturer? They look mean as hell and loud as hell! Jemco's website did'nt list them. I requested info. If you don't mind what did yours run?
The Gordon Scott pipes look alot like the CL450 pipes I'm running on my Cafe'

slide,
Well, you could install a late model wet side cover with the sight glass oil level and you can add oil by removing a valve cover.

Hey guys, the picture posted is not my bike. I just posted it as an example of Jemco milers. My tracker has black Shell 1/2 mile pipes that both exit on the right side . Next time around, I would go with the Jemco's with ceramic coating. The sight glass cover would work fine.
