Thanks Eric. That's what I was told. I have to have my deviated septum fixed, too. I asked the doc if he could do them at the same time and he laughed. He said he could, but he wouldn't. That was reassuring. Let me tell you.

Update! It was the ignition that fried, but I actually think it was b/c some of oil/grease I put on advance rod splattered up onto the chip. Just a theory though.

bigjimmy13,
The link doesn't work, but I have some concern if you do not already have a kill switch because that could lead to the possibility of leaving the ignition powered up when you might be working on some other electrical issue. Leaving the ignition powered up with the engine not running can cause the coil to overheat, short out and possibly take the PAMCO with it.

There is a kill switch. The stock one, but I'm looking to clean up the bars. The stock ignition switch is bulky as heck. I guess you'd also have to remember Pete that I don't have a battery or would that not matter?
P.S. Link fixed. I don't know what happened there!?!?

bigjimmy,
Yeah, I had forgotten that you do not have a battery, so leaving the switch on would not be a problem for you.

Thanks Skid, but I wasn't looking for it. I know a guy locally that has one looking to sell it. He didn't use it on his dirt bike. I'm just wondering if it would work on the bike?
Pete no worries!! :-D

That was reassuring. Let me tell you. I'm gettin a hernia fixed next week... Maybe the doc will give me a two-fer if I get a frontal lobotomy at the same time

www.cyrilhuzeblog.com/2009/03/27/exile-cycles-hidden-switch-bar-kit/This is the closest I know of in the U.S. Why not just move as many switches off of the bar as you can, and mount them somewhere else, like under the seat, or on the frame somewhere? The horn and HI/LO do not need to be on the bar. I like to have the kill switch near my thumb, but it can be moved off the bar too. Same with the starter button, if you have one. Then just go to an electronics store, buy toggles and momentary contact switches and tiny project boxes, and make your own Posh-type switch housings for whatever you decide to keep on your handlebars. What is wrong with the universal kill switch you posted, it looked okay to me.

The rest is all deleted actually. I put the toggle for the lights on the headlight. Drilled a hole and put the switch in.

Thanks Dog. Now I just need to find someone that wants the left over switches. All I really need is one toggle. Heck if at the very least I will get them and see if I can't copy them.
