Went to the World of Wheels show today and saw a few cool bikes.... (and lots of cars)..... I've seen this one in town - at least I know that me, RetiredGentleman, and GeorgeXS650 aren't the only 650's in town... Notice the custom kick-start pedal and horn.... There was also a matching pair of 1910 Harleys - one set up as a street bike, and one as a BOARD-track racer.... Here's the street bike... And if you think a chain is scary....... How about LEATHER belt-drive? The board-track racer was really cool, but not sure about the pedal & chain..... maybe a way to start it by pedaling it? And another belt-drive Harley..... I think the best picture I got there was this one, though...... Gotta Love Fonzie!

Well - he doesn't look like he's aged much - except a little more grey.... I told Mr Winkler that I was trying to explain to the young guys at work what Fonzie and the rest of the gang meant to us who grew up with him - all I could do was say look in the dictionary under COOL - and you'd see Fonzie's picture! He got a chuckle out of that. By the way - does anyone recognize the bike he rode? I'm guessing it's a mid '50's Triumph Trophy 500..... although the websites say that he rode several different bikes in the show...... A Harley and several Triumphs....

I researched this a little, it's well documented on the internet. They showed him on a variety of motorcycles, Triumphs (because he's small guy) in the beginning I think, but in later episodes they wanted him to have an American bike and showed him on Harley's. I lost all faith in the Fonz when I read this on imdb "As a guest on "The Paul O'Grady Show" (2004) (Nov. 18, 2009), Winkler confessed that he could not ride a motorcycle. Despite his image as an inveterate biker on the hit sitcom "Happy Days" (1974), Winkler never actually rode the bike on the series. During his one and only attempt at mastering the machine, Winkler took a tumble and stayed away from motorcycles after that nasty experience." www.imdb.com/name/nm0001857/bio

I just happened across your post grepper. Actually Mr Winkler appeared on a Harley Davidson Knucklehead in the first year of the series. The producers switched him to the Triumph in the second year in order to remove the stigma of the bad assed biker that they saw as synonymous with Harley.

At least he was behaving in the picture he took with you. The whole time that my friends wife was standing with him to get their pic taken, he had his hand on her a$$. I asked her why she didn't say anything, and she said she didn't want to make a scene, and if her hubby knew what happened, he would have went up there and beat his a$$, for grabbing his wifes.
