I've powder coated my motor black. Is there anyplace where I can buy black fasteners that will not rust, or am I better off spraying them black after the motor is put back together?
Thanks jvanbeek

I just spray paint the heads with barbecue black. I polish my cases but I like the contrast of the black screws against the shined cases.

I black out my fasteners using a good #2 sable brush and a $1 jar of Testor's model enamel. It's good for frame touch-ups too. If I was going to black out engine fasteners there are lots of different brands and colors of high-temperature brush-on enamels available.

Just get your powdercoater to clean and coat the bolt heads and nuts to match. Timothy

Isn't there some rule that says you can't use the board to advertise your services?

I have used Cold Blue for firearms to blue Bolts. The more you dip them, the darker they get. Then oil them. Most sporting goods stores carry it.

Isn't there some rule that says you can't use the board to advertise your services? probably, I dont see where I have been pimping the biz, I simply offer sound educated advice, it is a powdercoating section and by all means, thats definately something I do know a bit about and don't mind sharing the knowledge. Isn't that what these forums are for? Timothy
