Who's all going this year? I'm planning on going, still have to work out the details. Never been to it, heard that it gets crowded in Leland.

I guess the cops heard the Xs " Gang " was going to tear into town and upset the locals. Visions of Marlon Brando in the " Wild One's ". A patrol unit on each end of town... By town, I mean 2 bars and maybe a dozen homes. No post office.. no gas station.. no store. Two different units made drive thur's every 30 minutes or so. I was on the back roads (catch'n up with Kenny Roberts... ) prior to the event and saw 3 different radar units. One rider reported he drifted over the double yellow line.. not to pass...got stopped.. $220.oo fine. There were more old Brit twins then Xs twins. Hundreds of bikes... over painted..over chromed Harleys...some really nice Cafe bikes... vintage Euro units... Several rat.. Mad Max bikes. Nice old Hondas, Water Buff's, Suz-Rotory, 250 RD...

Your tax dollars at work! I was out walking my 2 dogs the other day and called in to report 2 pits running loose. It was an area with no houses or businesses. I hung around a few minutes driving around the area with my 2 dogs in the front seat of the pickup with me. I wanted to keep an eye on the dogs to direct the police when they arrived. Two patrol cars showed up and one of them pulled me over. I said "what up?" He said "you were acting suspicious is why I pulled you over". I said "Don't know about that but I'm the guy who called the dogs in. He got in his car and left. Hopefully to round up those 2 dogs. Maybe I better quit wearing this bandana on my head. Its getting closer to a "police state" everyday. Jeffery

Not quite as many bikes as I have seen other times, But still a good variety to gawk over. This was my fourth SCR. There has always been a good contingent of L.E.O.s present. One time we got stuck behind a county boy rolling along at about 50 mph. Maybe three groups of bikes about 20 in all bunched up (About a quarter mile behind of course). No one dared to pass or even flinch for about 10 miles. Never seen so much vigorous hand slapping on the top of the helmets ;D ;D

I was pulled over once for taking a left turn too wide....very wide as a matter of fact...almost a U turn. I asked the cop why he pulled me over and he said I was acting suspicious and why did I make the turn like that? I told him I did it to avoid the pile of spilled roofing nails he drove through to pull me over. As I drove away, he was on the radio for a tow truck. Sometimes life is good.

Ended up finishing splitting my wood in the morning so I missed going to Pine Bluff, but ran up to Leeland around 1:30. Always a nice mix of bikes to see and of course always run into old friends. And have to appalogize for our sauk county cops--embarrasing to say the least. Didn't run into any of you guys this year. There's always next year.
