Seen this thread and thought I would add my dirt bike to the mix. Been messing around with this for awhile now. Will finish it this winter for sure. I hand built my own chromoly frame. I think it has a cool look and should be a blast to ride! The motor came out of a good running bike however now when I start it it back fires bad and throws flames out the exhaust. I think since I cut the pipes short and there are no mufflers I will need to re-jet it to run right. Anyway here are the pics I know my shop is a mess but I end up fabricating instead of cleaning all the time....LOL Let me know what you guys think or any suggestions you might have! Thanks Scott

Hope you've got plenty of brave pills for when you take it off road?

I envy you your skills. I think you are going to need 3 more inches of exhaust header though.

Thanks for the replay's. I'm going to add some sort of mufflers to it as in MI to ride the trails I have to have some sort of spark arrestor, haven't really thought about how to do this yet...LOL Scott

Super Trapps are Dept. of Forestry approved, have an "anti reversion" affect, and are "tunable" by the number of discs you choose to use. They've been on a LOT of race bikes.

if you can build a chromoly frame why not build some high pipes into a proper muffler. no need for loud offroad bikes anymore land use issues are difficult enough as it is.

I'm really impressed Scott. I do like the high pipes on either side of the bike, like this: www.650motorcycles.com/RickmanMike.htmlDon't make the mistake of too large of tubing. The maximum would be 1 1/2" with 1 3/8" maybe being better for your dirt monster. The pipes can have some length to them also. All this to get the pull down low. Steve McQueen had one of these built with a Triumph engine and Metisse makes that frame for the Yamaha. One of my favorites if not my all time favorite bike. Tom Graham

Gunner. What kind of shock is that? Is the swingarm home made? I would like to see the shock top mount. I would like to do something on this line.
