my signal fuse keeps blowing, since I got caught in the rain the other day. I got home, and found the neutral light not working, along with no horn or turn signals..... tried a new fuse, and it blew right away.... tried some troubleshooting, and found that if I put my ohmmeter lead on the fuse holder (right side contact), it was shorted to ground.... any ideas on how I should proceed to the next step??? By the way, it is a 1981 xs650h

you can start by replacing the fuse with a light bulb (12v test light works well ) if 1 side is power and the other side is shorted it will light up! then proceed by removing bulbs checking wires if the light shuts of or dims your on to something this will help pinpoint the problem, don't forget to put fuse back!

Yeah, I spent most of the day yesterday poking around with my test light/ohm meter, disconnecting connectors, checking connections, cleaning bulb sockets, and, the only time the test light went out was when I disconnected the alternator connector... the crazy thing is that the bike still starts and runs good, just no signals, horn, and the brake light stays on all the time!!! now, I don't know what to do next!!!
