emailed pete not for free parts but to tell him my pamco caught on fire yesterday no response? so I guess U guys should be careful leaving your bikes in your garages if you like your houses.No wiring changes no grounds faults breaks shorts had it since it came out no probs up until yesterday.I left ignition on for about 10 minutes thats it.

Sorry to hear your bike burned up... hopefully you were able to save it from total destruction. Pete has recommended that a fuse be put inline in the main power source to the pamco, especially if you are using a more powerful coil. those are more prone to frying, then in turn destroying the pamco when the ignition is left on. I have the basic coil, mainly due to cost cutting when I was building my bike. So far I have been lucky, and I don't have a fuse in line. I've left the ignition on twice and only had a dead battery to deal with. now that the bike is all apart for other things, I think I'll be installing that fuse!

I'm always careful about leaving my ignition on when the bike is not running. While I was building mine I left the ignition on for about 10-15 min while I was troubleshooting some wiring problem. I happened to touch one of the coils and burned my finger it was so hot! The points for that coil were closed so the coil had full batt voltage on it for that long, I was lucky I didn't burn up that coil!
