Ok, so I know what a response is going to be before I start. "Get a manual and just do it" I was looking through some of the topics for instance "General Discussions" 25,000 posts. "Engine" 22,800 posts. Many more posts under other topics telling me there is still a fair amount of interest in this old engine that was lasted produced 30 yrs ago. Why dosen't someone like Heiden Tuning for instance make us a video of an engine rebuild or even someone else with lots of engine rebuilding experience? I'm sure they could offer a little something for even the most experienced 650 junkie. It could cover everything from case splitting to which are the best gaskets and sealers to use. jefft

Um...what's the point of your post? You could ask a direct question, like: xs650temp.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=EngineStock&thread=15750&page=1Looks like the link is lost - maybe you could try and track that down and report back. Or, see www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXsuoCivqCgJerry Heiden clip from partial engine rebuild. How much would you be willing to pay to have an entire beginning to end video of Jerry giving you all his tips on an engine rebuild? For a professional video production, figure about $3,000 a minute to make a final cut. For an unprofessional video, figure hours and hours and hours of planning, shooting and editing AND all your technical expertise. This board is an awesome resource. I dont blame you for wanting exactly what you want... but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need.

There used to be a guy in Colorado that made videos for Harley guys. He had tapes from tune ups to shop machine work. I think he went by DragonMan in Colorado Springs. He sold those tapes for about 30.00 a piece. I ain't buying it can't be done. These videos were not movie theater quality videos but they were good enough that a person could learn something and not have to spend the amount of money as a major movie production to produce. The quality of video these days would make it pretty simple. There is home video of different things all over you tube that is good enough quality to pass on information. jeffery

I know there is a bunch of videos on You Tube about the XS650 - and some of them are about engine projects.... But I haven't looked for a full engine rebuild.
