I have a thought for those of us with high compression/no electric starter motors. It is a Model T Ford inspired "magic starter"
Put a switch in the circuit to the ground side (e.g. the green PAMCO wire) of the coil.
With a piston just over TDC on its power stroke and current to the "hot' side of the coil (a question arises here) cycling the "magic starter" switch on-off-on should produce a spark and that spark is at least as likely to induce combustion as a prod on the kickstrarter.
I'm pretty sure that will work with a battery and wonder if there is a way for it to work without one.
You can put that switch in a "special place" as part of your theft-reduction program as a bonus.
It is still cloudy, cold and wet here in the GreatNorthwet. These weather conditions are conducive to such mental wanderings.

On my 75 with the 750 kit, it does kick over a bit tough on both the electric as well as kick start. It had the rocker arms with the bump on the end to be used with the earlier models compression release. I just put an early model compression release on it. Works well. Leo
