My electrical system consists of, Hughes PMA and combo rec/reg, Pamco and upgraded coils. I am only running head light, taillight and brake light, starter. I just went off my battery direct to a keyed switch, off the switch a 10a inline fuse which feeds the lights and Pamco. Is this a safe setup? Should I go to higher amp fuse. All my wire is 12-16g. you should split up some of the load of 1 fuse, example: if your headlight shorts out your bike will die out because you have your Pamco on it! better way to go is fuse your main in of the switch with a 20 amp, (as close to battery as possible) and the output of switch with 2 or 3 fuse holders with smaller (amp) fuses or get a small fuse block this way if something pops the fuse you would know whats popping the fuse, with your set up you would need to check everything out!

Very good point, I think I will throw a few more fuses in.

My setup isn't that different from yours. Definitely isolate your ignition on a 10A circuit. I run another 10A for the turns and one for head/tail/brake. Make sure you have good grounds and you should be golden.

i would put a main fuse off the battery (30A), to your switch this way your protecting the bike from main short, after the switch put as many fuses as you want.

The 30 amp main fuse is to big, a 20 amp is plenty. The ignition fuse can be a 7.5 amp. Lighting can be 10 amp. Leo
