wondering other place to attach rectifier to 78 xs standard. i know it was under the frame, but the one from MIkesxs has no external wires just a plug in and two slots to mount on either side. also push button for electrical start on handlebars can i replace just the button spring still attached. Any other methods to attach and protect wiring harness on my xs. i purchased a new harness from Mikesxs. just want to get it going any help would be appreciated. thanks,

Use a metal strap with holes drilled to match the mout holes on your rectifier. A third hole centered between those holes. Put a bolt in the center hole lock in with a nut. Mount this strap to your rectifier with a couple bolts. Use the center bolt to put it back under the battery box. Leo

Now Leo, that is just too easy, too clever and too good of idea to just give away. A fortune could be made becoming an XS aftermarket rectifier mount manufacturer. 8^)
