Hey guys This isn't asking for advice on how to mount these forks. I'm just interested in IDing them. I picked these forks up in a swap and they seem to be good. They have nice damping and springing, but I have searched and can't find any info on them. The only marking I see on them is PDF and I couldn't find anything on that antwhere. They're 41mm tubes and they have adjustments for preload and damping. They're really stout and not too heavy. In the pic they're collapsed, they have a lot more travel than the pic shows.
I'd like to have info on them in case I need to pick up some seals or other small parts someday.
Thanks
Hmm - I tried to post pics - no luck - I'll keep with it

I found this on one of the two Internets. PDF (Posi Damp Fork): This was fitted to the Suzuki RG500 and GSX-R 750 and worked by brake fluid pressure closing a valve in the mechanism when the brakes are applied, restricting the flow of damping oil and slowing fork compression. The valves are spring-loaded so if the wheel hits a bump when the brakes are on, they bounce off their seats and restore the flow of oil for a moment to allow the suspension to absorb the shock.

Thanks skidro - It sounds like what you're telling me is true. I'll be looking into that.

Cool! Those forks are apparently from '87 as that is the year Suzuki went to 41mm tubes on the GiXXers. These may end up being some future nice new forks for my XS.
... New forks? Reality check People born in '87 are graduating from college and getting married and having kids this year Better get on the ball and finish my XS project so I can be riding it before I'm 70... Time flys

Somebody please correct me if my recollection is faulty, but didn't the '"anti-dive" front ends not do too well? I seem to recall Yamaha dropping them after a season or two.

Not sure about that Burns... These forks came without any calipers or brake related stuff. I've been trying to figure out how these forks are supposed to have a brake pressure actuated anti dive system without any hyd fittings anywhere on the slider or other lower parts. I'm not gonna stress over it, but sometime before I use these things I'll need to figure out some stuff. They're pretty large forks, on an XS they're gonna look like a Wide Glide.

I like the trees and am kinda a fan of "odd" (I've got a '59 Triumph front wheel (1/2 width cast iron brake drum) on mine - which is form WAY over function).
These forks probably work better then the ones Yamaha put on, and if they go with a look you like, well ride on, ride, on, ride on.
Like you, I can't see how the anti-dive could be brake activated without a hydraulic fitting.
