I thought it would be smart to button up my clutch-side cover as soon as possible just to keep foreign material out... Knowing full well that I needed to replace the clutch pushrod seal and some tach drive parts. I shoulda just fixed it all, then sealed up the rt side, because when I pulled the seal for the clutch pushrod a bunch of grit fell down the hole. As if that wasn't bad enough, there was the tach drive. I had to put a seal in there and I should have done that before sealing the rt side as well. I removed the upper sleeve (guide) for the tach drive and the entire gear came out with it, leaving the copper thrust washer from the bottom of the drive gear free to bounce around wherever it wants to within my engine should I choose to ignore the problem I'd just created... Never a good thing. Now I have 2 reasons to take off the rt side cover... WHEE!!! Waiting for a fresh gasket to show up in the mail. Am I in a good mood about this? Well... I did have other plans for my workbench this weekend... But

Part II: There may be a silver lining to this. Upon examination I discovered something in the clutch mechanism that definitely was in need of attention.
