Has anyone here tried or used the Chinese shocks that are for sale on Ebay. They're available in several lengths and colors and from various vendors. Nitrogen/air filled and selling for around $100 a pair?

If you just want to keep your fender off the wheel those will do just fine, but don't expect more; that's less than half the price of a decent pair of gas shocks. You can't get something for nothing, but if the price is low enough you can easily get nothing for something.

I bought a set of cheap shocks and the seals blew out the first week.
I replaced them with a quality set that have stayed together for years (rides much nicer too).
So the "cheap" shocks cost $100/week and the "expensive" ones cost $2.50/week [and dropping]. That is the difference between price and value.

Indeed. I run used Konis on all my bikes (except one but it came new with Konis, lol). I paid $20 to $60 for the used sets. A coat of paint, a rebuild if leaking, and I've gotten years of quality service out of them. That probably works out to mere pennies a day.

A trusted source told me YSS shocks were a very good value. I believe they're made in China. They're not available for $100. www.yssusa.com/
