"Seems like there is some renewed interest in the threads for a regulator and rectifier but some of the pictures on the site no longer display because, I think, Pro boards has changed their format for posting images. I think that they no longer allow spaces in the title of the URL for images. Whoever is in charge of such things on this site should get that straightened out with Pro Boards."
Three days ago I posted the above in the General section, "Where is the rectifier on my 79 xs?" but I guess it really belongs here.

Well, in checking around other threads on the site I see that image URL's that do not include the "http://" code are also not displaying either, so it's not just the pamcopete posts that are affected by this change from ProBoards. Requiring the "http://" code and not accepting spaces in the URL is actually a step backwards, so Pro Boards has screwed up. Some one needs to tell them that the change is not acceptable to the administration of the site. Here is an example from a thread by mrriggs: www.gofastforless.com/ignition/650/01.jpgHere is is with the http:// added: Actually, it's worse than that. There is some additional code that ProBoards apparently needs to display an image. Older posts that lack that code are not displayed.

In that example, I intentionally left off the {img} tags so users would have to click them to see the pictures. I did include "http://" in the text, it's just not shown when converted to a link.

mrriggs,
Well, yes. Upon closer look at the source code it does seem that the images were edited out of the pamcopete postings. Kinda strange because these postings were still attracting views. If that is true, then they might as well just go ahead and delete the entire threads, but I guess that ProBoards are still counting the views.
Thanks for the response.

I must admit that I don't log in very often, particularly since I was laid off, had various surgeries and still don't have any settlement from working man comp insurance I've pretty much halted all work on my XS's, Don't have money, space or inclination to do anything with them at present (or even last 3~4 yrs ) I'm still about though, still doing a little with CB360's but not much with anything heavier than a set of carburettors. I should be getting better but need more painkillers just to function. Been going cycling last 6 months, it's cheapest way to be on two wheels.

I don't log in as often as I used to either. But I do frequent because without this site my bike and a lot of others wouldn't be out there. There are other sites out there but thus site and ADV are the main ones for me.
