Hi, whenever I try use my starter, it cranks the engine over a few times and the battery goes down and the thing just clicks. I have to then charge the battery. The battery is a new glass material sealed battery. The charging system is working great. Any ideas?

Good Day 650mix .... just wanted to see if you found out answer to your problem? Was it a defective battery, or low charge to begin with ...

No nothing new. The starter might be doing it. I don't use it much, I usually just kick it to start it. I was using the starter to spin the engine while doing a compression check and it just ran the battery down after a few turns. This is really weird because without plugs in the engine, it should have been easy. Anyway, I kicked it over and got the test done so I probably won't worry about it.

I might start by checking the connections, the large cables at the battery, positive and ground, both sides of the starter relay and at the starter. Any loose, dirty or corroded connections will make the starter not work well. Leo
