You KNOW you ride an XS if: after her first ride on it, your new girlfriend offers to throw away all her vibrators if you let her move into your garage......

If you own an XS650, then the rotor goes on the same list as death and taxes.

LOL Pete. Just had to swap my cracked rotor out. Thankfully I have a spare motor with just 6000 miles on it. So, all it cost me was the $10 puller from Mike's. Fired it up, took off for a test spin... and hear "clang clang clang" behind me. Forgot that I had just barely put in the screws on the alternator cover plate.... it took just a quarter mile for them to back themselves out and send the cover plate clattering down the road . It wasnt a long walk to go back and get it - but it sure seemed like it.

You honk the horn occasionally to make sure that stupid charging system is still charging

You buy more parts at the hardware store than at the motorcycle shops.

You have the XS650garage website, "Curly's starting system trouble shooting guide", the XS650 garage's carb guide, and Mike's XS are all shortcuts on your desktop.
You've also tossed aside your Clymers manual cursing that whoever wrote it is clearly talking about a different bike because yours doesnt "look like that" or "have one of those thingys" and come to rely on the forums for some real know-how!

You know you ride a 650 if you keep telling your wife that you are going to sell two of the three you own
