thank you i picked up the magnets and will be jb welding them to the rotor tonight. you did just the one farthest to the edge? how long has this lasted for you?

I tried the replacement magnet with no luck. back to the same issue now of the bike runs great with out the charging system plugged in and charges but runs poorly with it plugged in. guess its time for a new rotor.

I tryed the jb weld trick but i have no clearance for the pick up with the magnet on top of the rotor, did you dig out the old mag ?

Put shims under pick-up or find a slimmer magnet.

i dug out the old magnet jb welded in the new one and filed it flush. back up and charging. going to do a bit more clean up so next time my issue is easier to locate. Thank you for all the help. cant wait to have her back on the road.

Hello, OK, that is all good. I have a 77 XS650D with Pamco Pete SS ignition and a SS Reg/Rec.
How much of curlys guide, or what part is applicable to my setup?
