Hi Folks,
going to need paint sometime soon.
I haven't done any spraying for about 25 yrs and just about everything has changed, cellulose enamels no longer available?
(2 pack was just coming on market last time I painted a car ;D, )
Is there a basic description of different paints?
I see thinners is now 'reducer'
Anyone recommend a good book on subject?

What kind of color are you looking for? Something fancy or a plain non-metallic color? If you want a plain color, Advance Auto Parts has some new paints on the shelf from Dupli-Color. They are $20.00 a can and they have about 5 or 6 shades. Royal blue, bright red, black, grey, white, and silver if I remember right. They also have a primer and a clear coat all for the same price $20 for a quart can. The colors are pre-mixed, so all you have to do is pour it in your paint gun and shoot your bike... Hope that helps!!!

tt650: Trying to breathe life into a 1980 that's been stored (indoors) for 25 yrs. Air filters are dry rotted. Have cleaned carbs but she only runs briefly on choke then stops. Need jet setting info and other ideas that might help her idle and rev. Jul 3, 2018 19:15:19 GMT -5

louisvan: trix13 - I had a problem with my 1975 SX650. When I got to highway speeds, the engine lost power. The problem was in the connectors. At a certain vibration and the wind pushing on the wiring loom, the connector lost continuity. A bad crimp to the wire. May 20, 2021 1:19:09 GMT -5
