Hey folks, I was toying with the idea of bead blasting and maybe having a clear powder coat applied to the side cases of the motor, ala, the Sportster 883R style motor casing. Any body have any thoughts on this, or any body done it?

I think that is a really cool look. If you do have them powdercoated (and yes, you can do that) I would suggest that you go with a dead flat clear powdercoat instead of a glossy one. To me, glossy clear over sandblasted aluminum looks more like glossy gray paint than the cool blasted look. It sort of loses something with the gloss.

tt650: Trying to breathe life into a 1980 that's been stored (indoors) for 25 yrs. Air filters are dry rotted. Have cleaned carbs but she only runs briefly on choke then stops. Need jet setting info and other ideas that might help her idle and rev. Jul 3, 2018 19:15:19 GMT -5
