In an effort to get the project finished and get in a test ride on the weekend I need to finish painting with the clearcoat. We've been having some muggy weather for the last week or so and I've been waiting for it to come down.
Checking the local weather network every day, I see today is calling for lower temps and less humidity so I get geared up to paint today ( about the only perk of business for self.. you can book off when you need to ...if customers permit). At 8 a.m.it is 86% humidity. Now at 11.30 it is down to 68% heading for a low this afternoon between 30% and 40%. So I'm in a holding pattern and checking every hour or so.
The paint won't be totally finished today as I will still need to do the graphics but I set myself an "on the road" date of the end of June so graphics will wait.
If I can get painting done today, I should be in decent shape for test riding by the weekend and then hopefully get her in for MTO certification sometime next week. Getting the certification is sure to tax my patience as my wrench is always so busy and while he says"I'll get her done in a day or so" it usually turns out to be 7 to 10 days minimum ( even when I start bitchin on a daily basis).
Before you say it, no amount of inducement helps to speed things up. I tried that last time when I sold the Maxim.
While I am now getting more anxious to finish and ride the beast, I'm also looking for the next project. Funny how that is. You'd think that getting in the saddle time and fiddling with the 650 would keep me entertained through the year but I've got to admit I want to tear into something else. I think I'm crackers ( so does the wife).
I'll post a pic or two in the next few days.
Wish me luck and pray for some Arizona weather for me.
Cheers,
Spyug
Read the next post on graphics. Humidity came down but I blew it anyway.
