I just had the last of the parts I needed chromed since I put the tracker together last spring. If anyone needs a good plater I can recommend these guys. I've used them many times. When I was there about a week ago they had a chrome motorcycle frame finished, looked very cool. They also had some Goldwing rims dipped in copper getting ready from nickle than chrome. It's pretty cool walking in their shop and seeing all the vintage car and motorcycle parts. They also have a polishing section. I had my forks and rotors polished on my other bike and the forks polished by them for the 650. These guys do show chrome finishes, first copper, nickle than chrome, However chrome is not cheap, the parts you see in this pic cost me $350.00 to have done www.frankfordplatinginc.com/

I didn't realize how expensive chroming had become. Have you considered doing some home plating. You wouldn't save any money, would probably spend more, but you could chrome what ever you wanted on your schedule.

nice looking parts....and that is alot of money, alot more than probably new parts (if you could buy them)...should make the XS look cool, btw I always had parts chromed for show bikes and they were double dipped, this is the difference in blue chrome and gold chrome highlighting.

Show chrome is triple 'dipped', copper, nickel, chrome. If you layer chrome on chrome it tends to flake off. I forget how they get different colours, either some sort of dye or oxidiser in vats? PJ
