I don't know how many of you knew of Halco in the UK. They were a major source of XS650 parts and service in England. Here's a link, www.halco.co.uk/homepage.htmI'm sorry to say Tony Hall the founder and owner has passed away last week. The future of Halco is currently up in the air weather or not they will stay in business. The XS650 family has lost a great man. Greg

Halco Racing in the UK will close it's doors for good due to the recent death of Tony Hall the owner and founder of Halco Racing. Both Tony and Halco will be sadly missed by XS650 owners around the world as a valuable source of hard to find parts and information and our condolences go Tony's Family and friends.

Hello,
That's really sad news. Everytime "Classic Bike" magazine in England did a story on the XS650, they almost always referred to Halco. He was from everything I've read one of the most knowledgable XS retailers in the world. As well as being able to supply most any part.
Later,
HawkNE

Perhaps it's not as bad as first thought as there seems to be some effort in keeping Halco going..
From the Halco homepage..

I had been a customer and really big fan of Tony Hall and Halco tuning. Tony had kept the interest in XS's going for most of my formative years, without his knowledge the model would have faded out in the UK. I spent all my spare money on my XS and always bought from Halco, because he really knew his stuff. since Tony's tragic death we have had to make our own parts to keep our Halco engined bikes running properly. We really struggled to work out what components Tony had made/was using-alot of our work had to be trial and error. I have been in touch with the necessary people and have thier blessing to start my own XS tuning business in the UK. We shall be trading as PALMA Tuning and have no connection with the late Tony Hall, HALCO or Halco tuning Ltd. The goods, services and items we shall be offering will be our own. Some may be replica Halco items-but they will be purely our own work. We are in no way a successor to Halco, but we do share a real passion for XS 650's Keep an eye on our web site www.palmatuning.co.uk -we are not quite ready to trade yet, but are based in the UK and are working hard on many items and projects right now. We have the up most respect for Halco Tuning and wish every one connected with the late Tony Hall our deepest simpathy. ~Edited to fix link

Thank You Art-We'll try our hardest, I really liked the pictures of yor tracker-you have really paid attention to detail. Keep an eye on our site, we are constantly up dating it, in between working on XS's. It's good to see the following is still here in the UK. Could I use one of your tracker pictures on my site, I'm trying to put together a 'Gallery of British XS's ?

Cool, thanks again. i'll probably be using the close up shot of carbs, filters and very clean motor. It seems to rain alot in England, so not many bikes are as clean as yours. Many end up with the engines painted black. Later.

Hi, I'm in England and have seen your stuff already, a couple of guys I know are using them in motorcross outfits, I asked if they were Halco and they said no-Palma Tuning-I'd presumed they'd imported the engines or something. Are you still doing the big bore engines and are they any good for road use? where abouts in England are you? do you do other standard parts or is it just for racing

Hello, Yes we have built a few motors for outfits-but these guys often want fairly radical engines for maximum torque or revs-and don't mind trading off reliability to achieve it. These are not the best for road use. our 840cc kit is much better for the road and you will certainly notice the difference over a stock engine. Your clutch will start to slip if you don't upgrade it at the same time. We are in Warwickshire. We can also supply most standard parts, although many of the XS2 spares are very hard to find. The business side of supplying the public is still in it's infancy, but it won't be long before we're established properly. You can always email us via the web site, www.palmatuning.co.uk for now. Regards Palma tuning.
