;D This was an argument about modifications to any motorized unit because they take away any incentives for any one to make improvements for any reason amounting to " Making rules for the Government that wont's run by the very few that want more = to sell more fuel to make more money" cause there are hi mileage equipment out there and Bush is the snakes head that needs to be removed ASAP.
The individual that is supporting the very few whom are unimpowered because of the monitory situation that we all are in at this moment. The very few depend on the more than very many to make this system reenumerate the very fewer even more by rules " LAWS " to control the very many by again the very few.
This is a load of crap that many stand by and take it up the ears every time they think that they are voting for something new or better.
I read some were that freedom is XSivly expensive and needs to be guarded by the very many to insure that a monopoly doesn't cause the precised civil rights from being eroded.
I see the US government being controlled by the very few elitists that figure they can take dictatorial powers though simple law legislation. There fore they make laws to protect the multinational approach to making profits no matter how many civilian casualties are experienced as long as it is wrapped in a palatable cloak.
This type of legislation is going to become even more evident in the near future as they will want more and more and more .......= [glow=red,2,300]The people really don't matter.[/glow] They will guffaw a lot and deny deny deny until you feel guilty.
at first it seems XSivly simple.......but is XSivly deceiving in Sydneham, Ontario, Canada
Indeed, Hammerin! Too many folks in my benighted country holler "Amen!" when the neocons reduce our social vision to "Let the Big Dog eat!" Seems they're too busy resenting their tax bills to check just where they stand in the line to the big dog's dinner bowl. Down here we've got nothing to blame for the mess but our own meanness.
Bush flat out refused to sign into the Kyoto agreement on CO2 emissions ( conflict of interest?) I think it was Ben Franklin who said (may be misquoting slightly) ' any nation prepared to give up its freedoms in the name of security does not deserve them' Who was it that said 'who will guard the guards' Its at least a thousand years old and nothing has changed. see what happens when you ignore history? (those who ignore the past are condemned to repeat it) Guess that’s it for mis-quotes and rhetoric today PJ
There are three types of people in the world, those who can count and those who can't I dabble in rocket science, when I'm not picking my nose
Congressman James Barcia is from my district and is a straight shooter. Congressman Barcia also supports the Second Amendment so he's no stranger to this type "politically incorrect" fight. He will try to help out in this matter I'm sure. I will contact his office next week and voice my opinion on this matter. If this type of EPA nonsense doesn't move us to speak out then nothing will. Everyone must write their congressmen and let them know exactly how you feel and that you VOTE. Cheers, 50gary
And who says we live in a Free Society Have we forgotten that our soils where soaked with[glow=red,2,300]Blood[/glow] for the rights we now have, that seem to be dwindling towards a dictatorship. If the American people don't make a second stance against these JackA$$es,will never bear our free liberties. As for me I'll continue to modify my bikes as i please ..........Jack
This issue on engine modifications is something I've heard about for many years both with cars and motorcycles. The EPA has pushed these ideas during several adminstrations and gained a lot of ground during the Clinton years. Blaming Bush for this amazes me since the enviromentists blame him for killing all their plans. What do you think we'd have if Al Gore had become president with his book claiming that the internal combustion engine was the biggest threat to the planet? A few years ago California made an attempt to get rid of older vehicles saying they were putting out higher emissions. Car clubs and restorers were able to stop this law. SEMA and the aftermarket (both cars & bikes) have a loud voice but we need to support the AMA and other groups that look out for motorcyclists interests in Washington. Greg
As a Christmas present to myself, I finally joined the AMA. As Jack and Greg pointed out, we need to stand up for our rights and beliefs. I for one (as it seems many of us are) am tired of the Government dictating what is good for me, while they do the opposite for themselves. We need to support groups that represent us in our cause and VOTE to be heard. And if the jack**s currently representing you isn't getting it done, then vote him out. My fear is that we actually need a revolution to toss out our current governmental bodies as a whole and start over.
Meanwhile I'll continue to try and replace my current congressman (Dennis Kucinich ) with someone effective.
Kinky Friedman is running as an Independent for Gov here in Texas. He says the choice between Republican and Democrat is like being asked "paper or plastic" at the store. He used to have a band and one of his songs was "Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed." I don't see how we can hurt ourselves any worse by electing him Gov. At least we can laugh all the way to the poorhouse. He has my vote.

Kinky's band was the "South Texas Jew Boys". One of their tunes was "Homo Erectus." His moto for the Governor's race is "How Hard Could it Be?" I'm not suggesting that there is a connection.
I'm votin' for him.
BTW, I'm not blaming W for the EPA stuff, I'm blaming him for record high oil industry profits made from predatory pricing and market manipulation; and for executive orders that allow government spying with no court oversight. I've got a longer list of course. I blame Gore for everything that is wrong with the world because he couldn't run a decent campaign.
"How hard could it be?" I think Kinky was referring to Bush's well publicized statements about how "hard" it was to be president and how "hard" he and his administration were working and how "hard" it was to make the decisions he has had to make. My answer to President Bush (or "Shrub" as he is known to some of my Texan friends) would be, "Well you wanted the job and then you ran again after you knew just how "hard" it was. Don't complain to me."
As an Englishman once told me, "If God had wanted Americans to have elections, he would have given them candidates!" Would you like paper or plastic?

"Hard work will pay off in the future, laziness pays off now!"
It appears Bushes latest approval rating aboard this site as taking a dip for the worse.....Don't know why ;D and to think i voted for this man.........Oops! Anybody got a plastic shot glass of Hard Whiskey for a poor man .............Jack
Kinky got another motto for his run. When Molly Ivens was told that Kinky was running, she said "Why the hell not?" Kinky liked it and has been using it a lot, too.
And yall be nice to George, he don't know no better. After all he's number 3 in line behind Cheney and Rove and never was too bright to begin with but he does like he's told to do like a good little gofer.

joshua: The regulator/rectifier unit I got from Mikes PMA has closer hole spacing than original. Are we supposed to mill the holes to fit?
Jun 7, 2017 19:25:58 GMT -5
joshua: My bad. I found the bracket they supplied to mount the rectifier/regulator... Uh oh. How is this meant to work? Which way is it meant to mount? Looks like I have to use some spacers or something. Good instructions would be nice.

craig8johnson: I'm checking the charging system. I'm afraid I might have fried the last battery. With the solid state regulator (after market) what should it be charging at. The book says, I think, 15 volts. I'm hitting 17 when revved. Is that too high?
Jul 11, 2017 18:06:19 GMT -5
gggGary: Yes 17 volts is too high, about 14 volts is max, sounds like you don't have the right regulator or it's wired wrong.
