OK, I just noticed something weird: I noticed the same pictures on 2 different websites. Bay City Design baycitydesign.com/xs650/ Crazy Horse Customs www.crazyhorsecustoms.com/index2.htmlLocated in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. It looks like Crazy Horse photo shopped the dent out! Should I be concerned about dealing with Crazy Horse Customs now? :-\

For what it's worth if you go to the 650central page, there is a guy who makes good looking XS650 Frames..... don't know firsthand what they are like though.....

You may want to consider the BSA M 20 for some styling cues.

Just me.. But if I had a custom bike biz, I sure as hell wouldn't feature a bike with a beat-up tank and incomplete paint..
The dent is a skosh too far back, but it almost looks like they have forkstop problems.
IMHO, I'd avoid these guys. Chip

I don't have a horse in this race, just checked the websites, and Bay City Design does give credit to Crazy Horse Painting in their website: baycitydesign.com/xs650/"The tank and fender will be painted by Crazy Horse Painting" So, is it not possible that"Crazy Horse" does painting for a lot of houses? The photos in 650motorcycles.com photo archive come from all over....is it not possible that "Crazy Horse" painted a few of them? Maybe did a little work on a couple of them? Now, before you jump all over me.....I am just asking a question and referring to a couple of websites. Don't shoot the messenger.... Here is a link to a 650motorcycles project that makes specific refference to "Crazy Horse"...in fact, it is the bike in question..... www.650motorcycles.com/CraigCollins.html.

There is one photo of a machine I know was built in Germany and another one from the Netherlands.. and yet another by a member of this board and the old board, by the name of Elwood.. The 650 Trike is another good example, as it was home constructed and painted by the man who dreamed it up...

Well, I stand corrected...there is an outfit called "Crazy Horse Painting" and another called "Crazy Horse Customs". The former is the one reffered to in the links I found. The latter is not, and may be riding on the rep of "Crazy Horse Painting".

I have 2 questions for you all because I can't decide which look to go for: 1. Which forks do you guys think would be better for this project? www.kansaskustom.com/Front_Forks.php[glow=red,2,300]Girder [/glow]or [glow=red,2,300]Bent Leg Springer [/glow] 2. Which seat do you guys think would be better for this project? The [glow=red,2,300]spring style seat [/glow]like in the Indian 741 Military Motorcycle /Harley XA or the [glow=red,2,300]pogo T-bar seat [/glow]type like Harley WLA? (I'm not even sure if there is room to squeeze one in this frame) BTW Kustom Culture Motorcycle guys makes a pogo shock that would help save your tail with the latter option: www.kustomculture.biz/products/hardware/seats_bags/pogo_shock.shtml

Here's a couple pictures of a BSA single that was at Port Dover this year. Don't know if it was an original war bike or not.

I can offer this, There's several different shades of "Olive Drab" used on military vehicles, and some bikes were painted tan for the desert campaigns. A trip to a good local hobby shop might help with your plans. Also check out the Squadron books on the subject. www.squadron.com www.ipmsusa.orgChip

There's certainly no question about it being Brit, is there? Look at the ground under it.

PS. I really like the old military bike style too and am itching to do an xs650 in that style. I have a feeling that will be one of our next builds.
