Anyone else using picasaweb to upload photo's?
I used to be able to upload them but now can't for some reason, I'm copying & pasting the URL between the img][img symbols but nothing happens (works fine at the SR500 forum)
Help!!

I have a free account at photobucket. It gives an image code for each pic that you can simply copy and paste into your message like so ..... "[IMGhttp://i1020.photobucket.com/albums/af327/bmwbobz/Carbs/ChokeJet2.jpg[/IMG]" The above doesn't show as a pic because I added the quote marks at each end. Remove them and the pic shows .....

Thanks 5twins, here goes ....... Absolutely nothing.... What am I doing wrong? I'm copying & pasting the full code (https.googleuserblahblahblahetc.jpg) between the ![]() ![]() symbols and nothing happens?

Now you've completely lost me, when would I be asked to do that? What I've been doing is click on the insert an image tag ( ![]() ![]() ) and copying and pasting the URL between them, if I try using the upload an image bar and click browse, it tries to upload picasaweb in its entirety, doesn't give me the chance to select a photo. I suspect I'm not hitting the computer with a big enough bat. Max

madmax, Well, you could also just put the whole URL that you have in the address box of your browser and then answer the question when it pops up "no". That will display the image and you can then copy it to some other image storage site that's easier to use. I have my own hosted domain, so I just up load images to that site and I can then easily insert them between the IMG marks, like this:

That's exactly what I'm doing Pete, inserting the full URL (ends in .JPG) between the two ![]() 's, what I don't understand is the bit about answering a question yes or no, where is the question? I can't find a dialogue box or anything similar that wants me to say yes or no to viewing secure content, is it on the forum or something I should be looking for at the hosting site (picasa)?

I'm not pasting anything between ![]() bars. As I said, photobucket gives me the complete image code with the ![]() bars already included at both ends. I just copy from their site and paste in my post. I don't even do the "reply" full post thing, I use the "Quick Reply" at the bottom of the page.

madmax,
There is something different about your link that will not work using this sites {IMG [IMG} facility. It's a google link, so perhaps you have to use a Google viewer. That's why I suggest that you just copy it into your browser address box and enter. You will then be presented with a dialog box that asks if you only want to see the secure part of the link. If you answer 'Yes" you will not see the image because it is not secure, so answer "No" and the image will appear.
Alternatively, you can use this sites URL facility to take you to the site that contains the image and the same question will pop up. Answer "No". The image will appear. Click on the image and copy the image to your PC and then upload it to one of the more common picture storage sites, like photobuckit.
If you want a demo of all this, just click on the link that I posted above. Answer the question that appears "No". The image will appear. Click on it and you will be given the opportunity to copy the image. Do so.
