Is there essentially "two sides" to the flasher on this bike? My right directionals works fine, the left ones dont, if i switch the directionals at the headlight i can get the left to work but not the right. Do i need a new flasher or am i looking for a short somewhere, maybe at the switch??? I dont know.

You have an open somewhere. Either a broken wire, bad connection. The flasher operation is dependent on the load placed on it. No load=no flash. Short=very fast clicking of flasher unit.

Pops, et al -- I have a similar situation on my 81SH... my left side blinks work well, my right side goes on and stays on steady. I wonder if the wrong wattage bulb would also cause this problem - i.e. not enough load, no flash. The PO dropped the bike, smashing the right front turn signal into the tank, busting the lens and signal housing, and putting a golf-ball size dent in the tank. The front right bulb has been replaced - I wonder if the PO just put in a too-low wattage bulb. If anyone out there has converted their turns into newer and has a right side front signal, I'd be interested. Due to an ongoing custody battle with my ex (think Jerry Springer ), my 81SH is likely going to be my primary transportation. Have to sell the car. God was looking out for me when I bartered for this thing a couple of months ago. Onward and upward! Spring is springin'! Mistermoe ;D
