I have a rear wheel off of what I think is a TX650 1974. The brake light switch is mounted on the rear drum not the typical plunger style on the brake lever. I don't have any ideal how it works or if the switch is any good. Please advise. I can post a pick if necessary.

I beleive the switch you are referring to is a brake pad wear switch. If working, it will light up a warning light when the brake pads require repacement. Your brake light switch is located just behind the engine on the right side of the bike.

Thanks Chief! As I'm building a chopper out of piece mealed parts I wasn't sure. I will have to work something up for the plunger style switch I have.

Its possible to modify it to use as a brake switch, but, as its grounding switch you have to do some wiring mods (disconnect ground and run through switch, only works with dual bulbs, tail light doesn't come on until grounded) Probably easiest to just ignore it. PJ
