So I called up the local Yamaha dealer to see if they may have the flasher relay in stock (got motivated to work on the bike today) as I was thinking about being impatient and hoping to not half to order it from mikes XS and wait 3 days. 55.00 for the relay through Yamaha, mikes wants 8.00. I think its worth the 3 day wait.
Just shows you how invaluable mikesxs really is for all of us.

Not sure if you've read it or not, but there is a big thread on an electronic flasher replacement you can use, most auto stores have them...Tridon Stant EL-13 flasher...

I think I am going to go this route. Thanks, now the stock flasher is located under the tank? And I just remove that and install this with the wiring as stated in the thread about the replacement electronic flasher.

No problem...you've got it, right under then tank, the replacment is a little smaller so you might wrap some tape or inner tube around it so it fits snuggly. The old thermal flashers can fail after years of use and they are also resistance dependance...the electronics will provide a good steady blink for you. Swap the wires as the thread suggests and you'll be back in business...

I fixed my old flasher by pulling the can off and cleaning the edges where the board is grounded. Then I crimped the edge of the can to make good contact with the little copper tabs. Working fine for over a year now...

so Autozone and Napa don't carry that flasher. I don't have a discount around here, it is like a 40 mile drive to the nearest one. Any other stores that might carry it?

The brand name isn't important, just as long as it's a type EL-13 and says something to the effect of "electronic"
I'd be real suprised if they don't carry 'em, they're pretty common. Got mine at a local Perfomance Auto.
Best, Pol
