Seems like the old board is kinda` dead...I checked it yesterday and most of the posts were 2 weeks old...maybe everyone is over here. Plus, that rant by Aaron where he threatens to shut the board can`t have generated any good feelings. These boards are the greatest....to ask questions of knowledgeable and involved enthusiasts is priceless. Hey, y`all gonna` do the t-shirt thang? Best Charlie

Yes...I'll let everyone know when I know I have a reliable local screen printer with a quality product and pricing that is workable for the majority of folks who might want a T-shirt or two or three... ;D
I plan on offering three basic T-shirt colors and providing the option of a pocket which will probably add a bit to the price of the pocketed T-shirts..
Medium ash gray, with black screen printing
Black, with white screen printing
Orange, with black screen printing,
All the T- shirts will have the logo on the back [11 to 12 inch diameter] and a small version of XS-650 Garage banner on the upper left front area of the T-shirt
I have another meeting with yet another local screen printer tomorrow.

John, John I'm in the Navy anfd my boats Welfare and Recreation Commitee does a significant amount of business with a screen printing Co. If you want I can could check with them to see what it would cost. They sometimes are willing to waive art and set up fee's for us because we do a far amount of business with them. I think the salesman actually justs eats it out of his commision counting on the repeat business but anyway I may be able to work a better deal because of the volume we do. Drop me an email of what you want and I'll see what they'll be willing to do. Include you phone # is you want may speed things up. My email is rcneal22@comcast.net

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for not putting a big logo on the front. Shirts with a big front logo make my belly look bigger than it really is. Yeah right!

Thanks for the offer, But I do intend to keep the upfront money I'll personally be putting into the shirts, local..I also already have the art work done, and will be getting the screen set-up for nothing as well..
Keeping it local is also a control issue with me..I will be able to have first hand in-person approval of the quality of the screen printing, inspect each shirt myself, plus retain the ability to work directly [in real time] with the screen printer in the event that any issues might need addressing...
I work in logistics and the fewer steps and people involved always proves beneficial in getting the desired results.. Also, keeping it local eliminates the need of paying addition shipping charges to get the shirts into my hands..That savings will factor into helping the keep the overall costs of the individual shirts lower, and that savings can be passed onto the folks who'd like a T-shirt or two.
Going back to about this time last year and the shirt project I organized on the old board...Several of us talked about it, decidng on the type of shirts we wanted. I made up an order form, emailed them out to the folks who responded, had the folks who wanted shirts, to print out the order form I'd sent them, fill it out, and make their Money Orders and Cashiers checks out directly to the screen printer and then mail them to me,.When I had enough people lined up who'd sent in their order forms and funds, in the effort to have a large enough order to meet the screen printers minimum order requirement, I had Dickies brand work shirts [mechanics shirts] screen printed with the logo on the back, and then had the screen print company do the shipping direct from their place of business to eveyone who ordered one or two shirts...That company was a local company, and it worked out very well...
However it took about 8 weeks of posting and emailing back and forth to get enough people involved to have a large enough order, in the effort to get the shirt prices down. I then worked with the screen printer, helping them to get the sizes/colors organized and coordinated with the shipping of the correct items to the people who'd ordered them....The screen printer did a great job, but it really took a lot of effort to stay on top of the person who was handling the shipping order in house there..
This time around, I'll just have some T shirts made and tell everyone when they are ready...If they sell out. I'll have more made..Those who want one or two can mail me the funds directly and I'll mail them their shirts direct from my home and not have anyone else besides the Post Office involved..
Trust me, those buying the T-shirts will be getting top quality for their money. Just ask any of the guys from the original "shirt list"..
BTW, Welcome to the "Garage".
Regards
John

LOL....I totally get i what you're saying Mental...I hate big designs on the front of T-shirts as well. I do however have a vintage Mickey Rat T -shirt with the design on the front that is still pretty cool....Trouble is, my gut in not in same condition as it was when I bought the shirt years and years ago.... ;D John

Ya know... the ordering of the shirts on the old board would have gone smoother if some of us had checked our (my) E-Mail.

Ya know... the ordering of the shirts on the old board would have gone smoother if some of us had checked our (my) E-Mail. Ah yes...Bobby-San...I recall you were the last guy in on the shirt list...... ;D. Now that you've mentioned it, I seem to recall you said something about your email [or lack of reading it] back then..LOL..It was a non-issue then and not a problem.. Cool shirts though huh? Everyone who wanted one or two [except Hammerin] got them..I think Hammer fell off the planet or his beanie shorted out and was particle beamed back to Cactusia for upgrade/repairs, leaving him beanie-less and unable to communicate for a while. .. It's all good though and I think this time around with my having the shirts all ready screen printed, ready to send out, that it'll go smoother. I'm not trying to say the last order was not a good time for me..It was a hoot and I had a lot of fun with it all..However this time, I'm looking to streamline the process a bit and have the ability to get the shirts out right away when the members want them..This way they can get their shirts without having to wait on everyone else, or wait until there are enough orders placed to meet the screen printer's minimum order requirement.. Simple is good John
