As a new member of both boards, I have to say that it is the most ultimately cool thing - to have all you folks out there so smart, experienced and dedicated and willing to share. I still go to both boards (daily if I can). I have noticed the "members numbers" sections and seen this board slowly growing and the other one slowly shrinking. Ultimately, competition sorts out quality from mediocrity (except in the cases of Microsoft and Sony Beta - Microsoft sucks - Beta rocks). I understand reliability of the Garage board was dodgy. Since I have been a member, I have experienced no reliability problems with either board. I guess the cool thing is that through this process, we all get a better, more reliable, more user-friendly board that helps us with our problems (not only technology related). I love them both - as someone who purchased a 1981 a few weeks ago, it has been a life-saver. I'll probably continue to visit both until one of them goes offline. I also support some remarks by other users to save/archive much of the good info. Maybe an FAQ section is in order. I'm sure that the same questions keep on popping up by people who don't have the time or energy to scroll through and read entire categories. I know the BB for my TDi (what a bitchin' lil' car!) has an FAQ section. It's a place people can go to first with basic "newbie" or "guest" questions without "cluttering up" (man, I hate the sound of that - implies that there is a stupid question) the boards. Anyway, I've rambled alot - lots of potential threads here. Do what you want to with them, folks. I'm happy as a clam.
