Eric, nothing to forgive. If you worried about it for more than a second, you worried about it more than i did. Like John said we all love the old 650's here, no matter what shape or form they take. I'm content with my style of bikes, and so should you be with yours. Cheers Bro. Denny

Coupla` things... Aaron says in his Apr. 12th post, that he responded to requests for passwords...I tried for months, hundreds of times, before finally getting a p/w. Months and months. This hardly seems responsive, or responsible. On the tee shirt and logo thing...great! But we need a new logo. The present one is confusing looking. Looks like a big-horn sheep. I`ve got my XS motor sitting on a dolly in my house for 6 months now, so I surely know what it looks like. The present logo needs to be studied to dope it out; a logo should say Bam..No doubt what it`s about. My .02.

I'm thinking I am going to have to disagree with you....The logo was settled on back last year, with a large segment of the current membership of this board..There was no negitivity then, the design was approved, we/I had shirts made, and today there are quite a few shirts with this logo already on the backs of many people worldwide...I don't think anyone else has much confusion on what it is..Perhaps if you took your engine off the dolly and put a set of pipes on it and studied it further for another 6 months, it would become more apparent to you.. ;D
Sorry you don't like it, but the logo will remain as is and will soon adorn the backs of several more people as they go flying around on their XS-650s..
Cheers
John

John, on the subject of logos, i agree with you on the subject, it's a good representation of the old 650's. Rather than deal with a specific year, it takes all year models into consideration. I think you should use it. Also, Bob was kind enough to put a photo on the head of this board which was taken by me while aboard my bike..the 81. It has occured to me that maybe it is a bit selfish of me to suggest putting my photo up there. Maybe you and Bob should get a vote, the guys might want Godzilla or something else there. Lastly, do you have tee shirts available, and how do we get one? Cheers.....Denny

Denny.. Bob is my partner, he and I make some decisions independently and we are cool with that...You are welcome to send any photo in to him and if he decides he'd like to put it up, that's alright by me.. I personally think the photo you send is great, so don't give it another thought.. ;D Also everyone else is welcome to send in any photos and ask Bob to put them at the top of the temp board as well..He will put them up as he see's fit... The Logo: I appreciate you guys getting behind it, we all liked it last year and supported it by buying the shirts....The Logo was developed with the purpose of screen printing on various type of shirts that we as members could wear while wrenching, riding, and locating other board members at motorcycle events...I've worn mine quite a bit to some shows and ride-in's and have always gotten positive reaction and questions from other XS-650 fans/riders as to where they could get a shirt or two for themselves.. Right now..I am haggling with three different screen printers in the attempt to secure the lowest possible price...Last year, with the first batch of button up Dickies workshirts I had made up for the group, I didn't seek nor make a profit and got the shirts out to everyone who wanted one or two at very reasonable prices..However the screen printer I used for those shirts, had a contract with a very large brake manufacturing company that my wife works for and there was some real motivation on their part to give me a great deal, as my wife who is the chief manufacturing engineer for the brake company wields a good bit of influence with the chief purchasing officer with her company, who has the last say in who gets awarded what when it comes to bidding for business.....Being in business yourself, I'm sure you know how that dynamic works! Anyway. long story short, the screen printer would did the shirts last year, does not now hold the contract with the company my wife works for, so the search is on locally for another screen printer I can use and work with one on one.. This time around, I'm not only trying to get us as a group the lowest possible pricing, but am also attempting to get the price low enough that the shirts can generate some profit that will be applied to the hosting costs of the new site when it is brought on line. I doubt I'll be have any shirts made until the new site and board is finished and up running.. However if there is enough interest, I might have a batch made up and have them available...We'll see... Regards John

I asked everyone to send in pictures for the board logo quite some time ago. Denny was the only one to send me one, and it is up. I will rotate them as they come in. I am still looking for a stock bike, chopper and tracker in the same pic to add.

Hey, 6-5-0, didn`t mean to impugn anyone or anything, but I still think the logo is confusing. Got a non-mechanical bud here now...he thinks it`s Yeosemite Sam w/ tusks. Should the club offer tee`s to raise $, I`ll surely buy..this logo or another..confusing or no.

You and your bud are looking at a higly compressed version of the logo design..The real thing looks better than the small avatar or even the two up I have on the sneek peek page.. The real deal is about 12-13 inches across and the details of the design show a lot better. Hey, what's the matter with Yosemite Sam ya varmits? Cheers John
