shifty
Do they still have the Gerber Lid with the babies face on it? Can't get those here anymore. Wish I hadn't painted over my original lid.
Keep in touch and let me know if I can help when you start the project.

Is there a reason why the module cannot be mounted at the top (180 degrees from where it is in the pictures) of the ignition timing housing?

Could someone tell me who has logged the most miles with this system? If I wanted to build this system for a 90 degree bike would it be possible by just cutting the slots at different degrees. Thanks for any help TC.

this is verrry cool... I was building an electronic ignition for the honda 4's, but more or less put it on the back burner because some of the programming was getting too complex...
I'm interested in this solution though, is your advance based on computer or something else? I'd love to build one for my xs with an optical wheel with lots of slots, so it would be easier to program an advance algorithm...

roccitycafe,
This system uses the stock mechanical advance.

Try this... www.gofastforless.com/ignition/digital.htm I built it for my drag car years ago. It'll do everything you want and more. Best of all it can be triggered by whatever ignition tigger you already have and you can adjust it while riding. If you already know programming then it would be a breeze to adapt it for your bike.

This was absolutely my favorite project. The shear simplicity of it all. The baby food jar lid. The section of a bolt shank that I cut with a hacksaw, all just junk laying around my garage that Saturday morning 14 years ago that I cobbled together to make an ignition system that I ran for 13 years.
There have been a lot of views of this thread. My question is...did anyone actually build one of these besides me?
I am offering a reward of $100 to whoever is the first to post proof positive that have have actually built a "Gerber Lid" ignition system as described in this thread.
The proof positive has to be a YouTube video of it working.

I think that since you developed your Universal ignition, The Gerber lid ignition faded away.
