Do you have a "Cherry" STOCK[/u][/i] '78 Special? Want to show it off? Read on... I recieved this info and was asked to pass it on:
“I’ve just learned that Yamaha Motor Corp. USA based in Cypress California is looking for a good original or restored example of a 1978 XS650 SE to borrow. The bike would be featured in a display of Historic Yamaha models at their upcoming Dealer Meeting and the Laguna Seca MotoGP in July. The bike should be stock in appearance. Yamaha can arrange professional transportation so it does not have to be located on the West Coast. Sounds like a good opportunity for your Special to be part of Yamaha’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Please PM me if you would like to contact Yamaha about your bike and I will put you in touch with them.”<br>
Shoot me a PM if you are interested, and I will pass along the contact info to you!

I beleive they are looking for a special. 1978 was the first year the 650 special was offered. I've got an '80 model special that is really clean but it has low bars and dual front disc brakes. Also the fenders, fork legs, and grab rail are all painted black. Greg
