Guys, the time is getting close for the Server upgrade to ProBoards v4! You can read about the upgrade schedule HERE. The Feature list can be found HERE. Many of the features are not going to be noticible to you guys, but there are a few important things that will change.
1. User names will no longer be CaSe SeNsItIvE. This shouldnt cause many problems here, I dont think anyone shares the same user names.
2. There will be spam protection for email addresses. This will NOT stop addresses from being manualy harvested, but will stop the spam bots. The best protection is to enter your profile and check the "Hide Email from public?" box.
3. ALL users will be able to add events to the calendar. This will make the work load on me easier.
There will be a few changes to the board before the upgrade takes place. Begining next Monday (5/2) I will be removing all of the extra coding from the board. You will notice some things missing... the list of added codes for this board is too long to list, But you will notice the changes. We should be upgraded by the weekend... At the latest, Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
There will be a notice at the top of the board at least 24 hours before we get upgraded. Durring the upgrade the board will be unaccessable. The downtime is expected to be 10 to 24 hours. All data will be backed up before the upgrade incase of problems.
After the server is upgraded, I will be shutting down the board for 1 evening to re install the coding for our board. I will post this information and give a time the board will be down for changes before I do anything.
This will be a great time for us to enjoy new software, and new changes to the board. I hope everyone will enjoy the comming changes!
