Yesterday we gathered to the harbour of Lahti for the second XS650 round the Vesijärvi tour. Totally seven XS650's arrived in place, four XS2's, two specials and one standard. One XS2 lost charging :-( but others managed well cruising around the lakes and wonderful scenery through the winding side roads. See pics at: groups.msn.com/YamahaXS650/vesijrvenympriajoii.msnwWe have about 100pcs XS650 unofficial community here in Finland. Especially a lot of XS2's were imported here in the beginning of seventies.

Great pics! I hope I can get my recently purchased XS-2 to look like the red/white one in your collection.

Thanks for comments One of the main reason to have so many so nicely restored XS2's here in Finland is that we have so called "museum registration with special museum insurance". For that kind of registration the vehicle (car, motorbike, anything road-able) must be restored in to the shape of the manufacturing year. Today it has to be at least 25 years old, soon 30 years. The special insurance costs nothing compared to standard MC insurances. Registration is also quite low cost. The biggest restriction is that you must keep the vehicle in that registered shape and the change of ownership means registration must be re-done. And you can use it only 30 days in a year. No need for days to be in sequence. But some others like me use the old vehicles more and build them according their own taste. And be punished with crotch rocket scaled insurances (which we do not like at all). Jukka
