hello. since my xs1 is my fist bike, this site was a great find.one thing that would be nice is a section where new members could say hello.i always said that if i bought a bike it would be a harley.then i was given(as in free)and i love the bike.same old story cleaned the carbs put in gas and a battery and went for my first ride. have repainted it and other minor work since winter set in(was 100%factory original except color when i got it).can't wait for spring!
Welcome to the XS-650 Garage USA discussion.. Even though I don't own an example, the first couple of years of the XS-650s are my favorite looking XS..The have that "something" that harkens back to days before the factory "custom" Specials and to my eyes have a certain street creed that set them apart from all the other Japanese machines of the era.. I love the candy green of the 1st yr and the candy gold of 2nd..The plain alloy controls/perches with the Gran-Turismo grips are eye candy to me. The long rod motors and wider valve settings gave the early engines a little different sound to my ears.
Cool bike..I hope it serves you well..
Yamaha XS650, the past is a just a blur in the mirrors.
